The Sheriffs
The job of Sheriff, once thought of as a local position, now requires a global focus. These men and women must work with other law-enforcement agencies on a statewide, federal and even international level to strike at the roots of the problems.
The Sheriff in each county is elected by the voters. All Sheriffs are active members of the Maryland Sheriffs Association. Sheriffs serve four-year terms, and have county-wide jurisdiction that includes incorporated as well as unincorporated areas.
